Mexico Real Estate: How To Choose A Location
This article explores the question of how to choose a location when buying Mexico real estate.
Mexico is a large and beautiful country with a huge variety of interesting locations. So if your heart is set on buying Mexico real estate you have a major question on your hands: where in Mexico to live?
Popular choices include Baja Chapala Chiapas Copper Canyon Guadalajara Mazatlan Mexico City Oaxaca Puerto Vallarta San Blas San Miguel de Allende and Yucatan. Well look at a few of these and consider them from the point of view of buying Mexico real estate. More important though well try to establish how to make your choice.
Now is the time to think through the many exciting possibilities before you and decide where to locate. What will help you most is to establish firm criteria and write them down. Let me share with you the factors that I had in mind when I chose my location. I took the trouble to think them through and put them all in notebook. I kept referring to my notes as I conducted my research and as a result I have really found the home of my dreams in Loreto Bay.
There are several vacation spots in Mexico that are famous or notorious for their party lifestyle: lots of loud music plenty of alcohol flowing and all the fun and games that go with that. Personally thats not my preference at least not anymore! At this stage of my life I love nature and the tranquility that only natural surroundings provide. Of course I enjoy the ocean so thats another essential on my list. Those criteria ruled out Mexico City although it is a wonderful place to visit and deserving of a far better reputation than it has.
Another priority for me is accessibility. I still have a home in the US in Illinois and more important I have friends and family that I want to keep in touch with. Buying Mexico real estate that I cant easily travel to and from makes no sense to me. So although Chiapas for example has some stunningly beautiful scenery it is way too far south for my comfort.
For me Baja California has proven the perfect place to buy Mexico real estate because it provides extraordinary natural beauty and is in easy reach of just about every US city. But of course Baja California is a large region so there were still choices to be made about where to settle.
One of my buying criteria is that I care about the environment and I wanted to be part of a development that is truly sustainable. That quickly narrowed my choice and I found myself exploring Loreto Bay. Now I found I had the best of all possible worlds: natural beauty easy to reach quiet yet fully alive and a community designed to nurture the environment. Whats more I could buy Mexico real estate without having to master the intricacies of Mexican law.
